The Story Behind the Letters Box

My husband and I have been married for over 13 years.

We come from different parts of the world, and when we first met we used to write each other letters. It became a beautiful way for us to express ourselves with more depth than we sometimes could in conversation, especially with the language barrier between us.

Over the years we kept this tradition alive, and today we have a large collection of love letters that tell the story of our life together.

I have always found them incredibly precious. They are little windows into our journey and into our minds at different moments in time. They show how much we cared for each other, what we were dreaming about, and who we were becoming.

For a long time, I wished I had a special place to keep them safe, something meaningful enough to hold such personal memories.

I like to imagine that one day our children will read them. That they will cherish them too, and maybe even pass them down to their own children.

Our love story will continue to live on — the story of how a French woman met an Australian man completely randomly one day in London.

And how, if we had been one second earlier or one second later, we might have completely missed each other and lived entirely different lives...
